This iconic piece, with a name meaning “little boat” in Italian, allows the user to easily change the shape by sliding 28 movable pieces of plywood. There is endless versatility in what you can create, from a crescent shape to a sphere. BARCA won the Gold Leaf Award at IFDA 2008, for its demonstration of impeccable crafting prowess. Each of the parts is easy to slide, and also easily stays in place once they have been moved. Now, BARCA is known as a symbol of CondeHouse’s attitudes and consciousness towards design. Designer

Jakob Jørgensen mainly works with wood and steel, and likes to explore possible new expressions in what is, mildly put, a thoroughly tested materials. He carefully ponders the issues he addresses, and once having a clear idea, he goes into his workshop and proceeds to create models and other experiments to shape ideas into finished products. In 2008 he won a gold leaf IFDA (International Furniture Design Fair Asahikawa) in Japan, and his winning piece Barca went into production by CondeHouse.
